today my friend suzanne and i did a quite balanced presentation on healthcare provision in cuba. my professor, a capitalistic, misogynistic economist whose understanding about the world stopped in 1960, smelled blood and, deciding that we weak-minded, socialistic females needed to be educated, decided to patronizingly rip into us by listing the things we "forgot to mention" while vigorously flipping through his notepad.
if you know me, you'll know i wasn't about to take that, and somewhat diplomatically, though maybe, in the end, a little too harshly, refuted all of his "criticisms"/tirades until he ended up looking slightly taken aback (by a female "inferior" who would dare be so lippy). then, when the rest of the class was out of earshot, he decides to make amends by telling us that our conclusions, however, were "right on."
screw you, stupid professor, for making me act like a complete bitch in your class, while still making me feel about |---| <--that big. and screw you for making us do readings about "negros", for calling poor people "indigents" and for saying shit like "some women go on strike and decide not to have babies"(...although i know it is our JOB). i hope your wife never comes back from her vacation so that with "no one to do the cooking"(your words) you slowly starve.
