things to do on Easter Sunday when you're single and fabulous in the city:

• wake up slowly and slightly hungover, ease into the morning with strong coffee and rye spelt toast
• go to church for the Easter service, sing fabulous songs
• forget yourself a little, and find yourself doing the knee bounce during said singing
• walk home, buy hyacinths, sour dough bread, goat cheese and chocolate
• nibble on 3 of those things while catching up with an old friend
• email a nice, smart, cute, totally appropriate boy
• go for a wander in the sun and wind, buy a large coffee, add cinnamon
• stop by Chapters and fondle the poetry books
• buy a giant bunch of dream-come-true pussy willows from the market

• doze on the couch with the sun on your toes
• cook up an amazing couscous pilaf salad. eat a big bowl full

• tune up a guitar and channel joni mitchell, dar williams, the wailin' jennies and the indigo girls
• talk to the family on the phone
• watch the English Patient, which is kind of completely amazing
• go to sleep so you can wake up on time to do it all again tomorrow.
